You’ve missed the marquee, haven’t you?

Good Morning!

I was gonna blog about the highlights from my weekend (how presumptuous of me to assume that someone would want to hear them, huh... oh well. heh), but I figured I'd wait until I could post the accompanying pictures. I mean, what good what it be for me to say "Hey, I totally got to grope Shane (from Shane's World).," without having photographic evidence? So instead, I'll talk about... other things:

  • Go Chargers! Damn, that was a good game (against Indy) yesterday. I actually left Vegas at like, 6 in the morn, just so I could make it back home in time to catch it on TV. And, as you can imagine, leaving Vegas that early after a night of drinking isn't the easiest thing to do.

  • Backtracking... OK, so Saturday night, I went to a Las Vegas Wranglers (minor league hockey) game. They lost, but like all good hockey fans should, I was doing a lot of yelling and screaming. And some drinking. And then afterward, we went back to my friend's and played Rock Band for a few hours. Now, I've never really "gotten" why games like Guitar Hero are so so SOOOOO damned popular, but now, after playing Rock Band... I get it. Man, that was fun. Sure, you're probably thinking "What a geek!" right now... I mean, who goes to Vegas for hockey and video games? I'll tell you who - me.

And yanno, I've seen HD TVs at Best Buy and stuff, but wasn't really impressed. I didn't think that there was that much of a difference between HD and "regular" TV. Boy, was I wrong. After watching HD (albeit, on a huge huge HUGE TV) for a weekend, wow. I tell ya... what a difference. A new TV isn't anywhere on the horizon for me yet, but methinks I might have to get HD when that day comes. Shoot, by the time I'll be able to afford it, it'll probably be standard.

  • Finally watched the new Ghost Hunters International. Now, I love me some (TAPS) Ghost Hunters. I like the investigatory styles of Jason and Grant (lead investigators) and Steve (tech guy) - they're generally calm and level headed. But these people at GHI? I think Mac summed it up best in my comments on another post: "Have you seen the new Ghost Hunters International show? I want to punch everyone on it. Talk about a bunch of overly melodramatic motherfuckers." Amen. Seriously. GHI is like, the Junior Varsity TAPS. They should have just knocked Steve out and put him on a plane for the trans-atlantic trip. You know, like they used to do for BA Baracus.

  • Gah. I broke my phone yesterday. It was during the drive back home from Vegas... it was in my pocket, and when I stopped for gas, when I opened the door, the phone fell out of my pocket, and hit the concrete. And broke in half. It sucks, but you know, I've been needing to get a new phone for almost a year now. This kinda forces my hand. And while I'm at it, I'm also possibly looking for a new carrier. I'm not overly pleased with Sprint, and right now I'm going month-to-month with them (after having a 2 year contract previously), so if there was a good time to switch, it'd be now. Maybe I'll check out Alltel or T-Mobile.

  • Oh yeah, I totally forgot to post the answers to last week's music quiz. I stuck the answers in the comments of that post, if anyone still cares to see the answers.

  • Gosh, I'm all over the place here. Back to the return trip from Vegas... usually, on the way home, if I have time, I'll stop at Baker, CA, and visit both the Alien Fresh Jerky store and the World's Tallest Thermometer, right next to the Bun Boy Restaurant. Well, the Bun Boy is gone, replaced by Bob's Big Boy. And now, there's a cheesy gift shop at the base of the WTT. I'm kinda bummed about those things. They kinda kill the novelty of the place. But hey, at least the AFJ store has gotten nicer. They've got a new flying saucer and everything. Ah, change. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

OK, I'd better get back to work for now.

Happy Monday!
