I have to say, though... while I love seeing Domo getting some mainstream recognition, I also can't help but feel a little sad. Domo used to be like, a little secret that only we knew about. But now, Domo is just everywhere. There's too much Domo stuff. It's like having your favorite local band that nobody's heard about make it big and selling out. It's like having a hobby that everyone thought was weird, until it became trendy, and then everybody treats you like you're just a trend whore. I know that you guys know that Domo and I have been tight for years now, and I know I shouldn't care if everybody (erroneously) thinks I'm a trend whore. But I still care. A little. I mean, who likes to be called "trendy?"I feel a little better knowing that I'm not the only person who's a bit sad about Domo's newfound mainstream fame... I see that other people feel this way, too.
Of course, I still had to get some of the new, costumed Domos (OK, so really, Joelle got them for me. Thanks Joelle!). Hey, they're cute, and I couldn't resist. They're Domos!
The one in the pumpkin costume, I named "Gordo." You know, pumpkin. Gourd. Gourd-o. You get it.
And the one in the devil costume has been named "Diablo." Mostly because I wanted to stay consistent with all of my Domos' names ending on "o."
But don't worry... Domo is and always will be my #1 Domo, even when he goes into retirement.
Anyways... so, while I'm sad that "the secret's out," I can at least be happy that more people get to enjoy Domo. And his infectious smile.
Rawr.
