Don't get me wrong - there was a lot of just amazing footage. But if you've seen the Planet Earth series, then it's just all a re-hash of what you've already seen. It's not the exact same footage, but it's new footage of the same things. So, if that's the kind of thing that you can never get enough of, then you'll love Deep Blue. But if you're looking for something new, you might be bored with it. Plus, in some parts, it seemed like they went a little short on narration. I can see the point of that, letting the images of nature speak for themselves... but there were a lot of times that you just wouldn't know what the heck was going on.
Still, there's some incredible footage in there.
And, at the risk of being one of those people who has no life and only watches TV, so all that person talks about is TV... have you seen that new show on Game Show Network called Grand Slam? It's sort of a "Tournament of Champions" across many different game shows, including former contestants from Jeopardy, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and the World Series of Pop Culture. And it's really hard. And it doesn't just feature trivia - there are math and word problems. And it's fast. It's hard to keep up. But it's a lot of fun to try and play along... if you're the kind of person who likes a challenge. The only problems I have with the show are... there's a lot of filler time, and the host is Dennis Miller, so you'll have to listen to his smarmy ass. Aside from those two things, this show is a lot of fun.
And, just to have something non-TV related, check out my new favorite dog picture, Wag That Tail.
