Well, the weekend is a-comin', and that means it's almost your last chance to submit/donate for the Boobiethon. So far, over $6k has been raised, with over $5k going to Komen. So what are you doing here? I'm boring! There's boobs over there! Go! You go now!

Just few reminders... and please, note that I am not affiliated with the Boobiethon, and that anything I say below does not reflect the opinions or views of the Boobiethon. This is my own, personal defense of them.

• Nudity does not necessarily equal porn. Nudity is nudity. Nudity is the human form in its natural state. Visit your local art museum for more details.
  
  I'm just sayin', because I've seen a number of people refer to the Boobiethon as "Porn for the Cure" or "Pink Porn."



• Robyn is not profiting from the Boobiethon. None of the volunteers are profiting from the Boobiethon. Those who equate the Boobeithon with "Pink Ribbon Profiteering" should do some research before they accuse my friends of something they have nothing to do with.
  
  Last I checked, 100% of funds raised goes directly to charity.



• If you're mad, because you don't think Komen is a "worthy" charity, why don't you suggest some worthy breast cancer related charities (and reasons why they're more worthy), rather than hem and haw about how "Their hearts are in the right place, BUT..."
  
  People, your hearts are in the right place too, but you should really do something about it rather than just talk about it.

I can't believe I even need to defend them.

Bottom line, if you could do better, then by all means, do better. Maybe the Boobiethon folks might learn something from you. Maybe we can all learn something from you. One thing's for certain - nobody's learning anything from you people who are sitting back on your high horses, bitching and moaning instead of helping. If you can help, then fucking help.

Oh, and my personal favorite. Because you KNOW after five years of doing this that we've never, ever heard it before and you're like so completely fucking original for having come up with it:

I did it last year, back when I was a blogger.

The one thing always bugged me though. There's no way for a male blogger to generate revenue aside from donating. Females can donate, and get on the pay-per-side, then tell their readers "fork over $50 and you get to see the show." A male blogger doesn't have that option.

Not that donating isn't a worthy effort or anything, but if you pimp it and advertise it and tell your readers to get over there on day one, you still haven't raised a single buck. I just wish... I suppose... that there was a way for me to do more.

Anyone who thinks the boobiethon people are profiting from it hasn't done anything but read an (outraged) excerpt on someone's site who probably didn't do the research themselves either.

Exactly Misty! We don't even take the donations personally to begin with (money never, ever changes hands) -- the people donate directly to the charities and then just send us a copy of their receipt to be counted. We're pledge-only!

Are you fucking kidding me?! People are really assholed enough to say that shit? For cripes sake, they're breasts! We all have them, even you Mikey. Jebus! Every single pic is in good taste. Boobiethon puts the fun back in charity. Sure, I could just write a check and be done with it, but we get to have fun in the process. And we get to show what we are fighting to save. And as always, if you don't like it, don't look.
