Why I secretly wish that it was legal to run some people off the road

I don't really know why, but lately, I see more and more people doing something disturbing while driving... reading. Yeah, reading. And I'm not talking about during rush hour, in stop and go traffic. I'm talking about moving traffic. I've seen a guy with the newspaper stretched out over his steering wheel... while going 70.

Seriously. Can we get any more dangerous?

This morning, I was behind a lady, and she was swerving all over the place. Swerving so badly that I had to wait until the lane two lanes over was open, because I didn't even want to be anywhere next to this woman. And, like most people do when that pass some idiot on the road - I looked at her. I dunno, I guess I like to see the physical manifestation of idiocy. But mostly, I like to see what kind of asshole this is who can't drive in her own lane. Imagine my surprise (no surprise at all, sadly) when I saw that she had a book in her steering wheel, and she was using both hands to read. Honestly, I'm surprised that she wasn't on the phone, too. Really, shouldn't it be legal to run these fuckers off the road? It's not like a car isn't a dangerous vehicle or anything. It's not like an out of control SUV won't cause any damage if it hits something.

Eh, I shoulda just followed that lady to wherever she was going, broken into her car, and replaced that book with the CA "Rules of the Road" book.

Anyway. So, does anyone else see this more and more now? Or, do you just see the people watching DVDs in traffic? Gawd, I hate that, too. WTF? Aren't people satisfied just driving around safely anymore?
I see it. It shocked me at first. I can see looking at some written directions to get you to where you are going....but to read the newspaper, which is what I see being read most often, is just plain dumb. Big dummies.

I'll not mention the fact that I take pictures sometimes while I'm driving...oops...
Rocket launchers man, rocket launchers.
We have a thing here where you can dial *csp (Colorado State Patrol) on your cell and report assholes like that! There are signs advertising it on the freeway "Report drunk or dangerous drivers!"

I can't imagine somebody READING a book!!
Thats some scarey shit...I've haven't seen people doing this at all. In traffic yea but not open road...
When I was in high school I remember hauling ass on the highway and being passed by a woman that had to be doing 80+. She was looking in the mirror and applying lipstick.
i had a lady on monday that just stopped in front of me for no reason.

just stopped.

luckily, we were not on a highway or anything, but i had to go around her and then i got stopped at a light. nobody has a clue that anyone else is on the planet sometimes....
Usually I'm a good, attentive driver. I keep up with traffic, stay in my lane, etc. Having said that.... Once, while I was driving through the Appalachians to go home for Christmas, I attempted to teach my 25 yo niece to knit. It didn't seem that dangerous, until we almost died!
I think the car dvd players are a serious hazard. I don't actually have one in my car, but every time I see someone watching one I feel I just HAVE to know what they are watching, so I usually end up pacing them or totally up their ass trying to figure it out. So really, dvd players make me a more dangerous driver.
