What new shows out there are worth watching? What shows out there should I catch up on? Just curious as to how all the other new shows are. I'll tell you what I'm watching, if you care to read...
Battlestar Galactica. Who else out there watches this show? Anyone? Anyone? Come on, you don't have to be a sci-fi geek to watch the show anymore. Anyway... for those who do watch it... is it just me, or has this season kicked some serious ass so far? Shoot, last week, there was a gut-wrenching, emotional scene (with Colonel Tigh and his wife), and then... they showed the openining credits. They hadn't even gotten to the good part yet, and I was almost already spent. Luckily, I got a "second wind" before the rest of the show, because, damn. That was a good show.
Seriously - if you're not watching this show, you're missing out.
Heroes. A lot of people seem to like this show, but I'm still not convinced. But I know it's busy working itself out, so it could get better once it finds its groove. That leech dude really bugs me, though. You know, the guy whose super power is to leech off of others' super powers... I can't stand the guy. And I'm not too keen on the Jekyll/Hyde woman (played by Ali Larter) either, but... we'll see how it goes.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. I was really excited to see this when it first came out, and I wasn't disappointed. It's a good show. But... you know... for some reason, I don't have that "excitement" that you usually get every week when it's [whatever show] night. Does that make sense? I mean, I like the show, but not that much, I guess. I dunno. I think that built-in drama between Matthew Perry's character and that one actress girl Hillary kinda bugs me. It's too early for this kinda drama, you know?
The Dog Whisperer. Yeah, I still love this show. And it's not just for dog owners - if you pay attention, you can learn things that are just as applicable to people as they are to dogs. Plus, I love how Cesar has such a positive attitude toward life and problem solving. And it's all so simple. If nothing else, you get to watch dogs for an hour. That's peaceful, right?
Ugly Betty. My favorite of the new shows, despite the fact that I'm not fond of the title (because really, she's not "ugly," she's more... "not made up"). I don't know what they're going to do with this show, though... is it an ongoing drama (including, for example, the music box) or a week-to-week comedy? It's trying to do both, and I'm not sure if it can... but it's trying. I'll keep watching it.
Well, that's all the time I have for now. Most of the other things I watch are ongoing reality shows, like The Amazing Race, or long running series, like CSI. You don't need to hear about those, do you? (Although, the Grissom/Sidle "romance" still kinda creeps me)
