What’s on

OK, the new TV season is in full swing, so I thought I'd ask...

What new shows out there are worth watching? What shows out there should I catch up on? Just curious as to how all the other new shows are. I'll tell you what I'm watching, if you care to read...

Grissom and Sidle still creep me out too! YUCK! I love Ugly Betty and just watched 3 episodes of Heroes...I'm not too sure about Heroes as of yet...I love the Asian guys though!
Not too many of the new shows really spoke to me. I'm giving that Brothers & Sister show a go since it comes on after Desperate Housewives. It's weepy and soapy. Eh. And I'm watching Studio 60 and it's OK.

The main show I was excited about was the new season of Dr. Who on SciFi! I really liked last season's Doctor and I was hoping that the new one would work just as well. He does. It's cheesy but it's a fun way to spend an hour.
I am completely in love with Studio 60, but I think it's just because I miss West Wing so much.
The only shows that I will not miss are Meerkat Manor and I Pity the Fool, Mr. T's mind-boggling new show.
You covered my 2, Studio 60 and Ugly Betty. I also caught 30 Rock last week and that was somewhat amusing. I'm not sold yet, but I'll give it a couple more weeks.
I'm catching up on Galactica as quickly as I can. I just sent back a DVD today and hopefully Netflix will get me the next one soon. It is awesome. I can't believe I waited so long to start watching.

I admit I love Heroes. I think that some of the actors are not so great and I think that thye haven't quite worked out the voice for the writers as a group yet, but I love the direction that it's going.

Watching dogs on TV for 60 minutes isn't peaceful for us. One of our dogs thinks he has to try to talk to all of the dogs on screen and spends the whole time barking at them. Otherwise, Dog Whisperer, yeah.

It's interesting, I like CSI, but I have never been able to get into either of the spin-offs other than to occasionally watch and make fun of CSI Miami.
Battlestar Galactica is the best show on tv - I love it and can't say enough about it. Just incredible - the writing, the twists, the whole concept - the acting, omg, don't even get me started on the incredible acting!

CSI, Amazing Race, and Survivor are on the top of my list as well - but I agree with the romance on CSI - :shudder: I would rather he stick with Lady Heather. :p
I've gotten sucked into The Class. It started slow, because there are a lot of characters that had to be developed, but now I'm loving it.
ok, i tried watching Battlestar Galactica with my geeky husband, but i can't do it. maybe it's because i just jumped in this season, but that show is a snoozefest.

Heroes we just started watching last night, and so far i like it. it's different.

Ugly Betty is cute, but i wouldn't go out of my way to watch it. i don't even have it tivo'd.

so it's mostly all the old standbys for me - House, Grey's Anatomy, Amazing Race, etc.
I wasn't sold on Battlestar Galatics originally, but it snagged me in quickly.

Dr. Who is fun, but I don't hold my breathe waiting for espisodes, but a friend of mine has discovered it and is totally into it now (the whole thang, not just SciFi's seasons).

I like Heros. It runs a little slow in the plot to build up suspense. Monday is a good time slot for it cuz I don't think I'd watch it if it was one any other night.
Studio 60
Friday Night Lights
Ugly Betty
Brothers and Sisters
I need to subscribe to Showtime because I want to watch Dexter. You can watch the first 2 episodes online. It's quirky and gruesome. Who knew a person could ever find a serial killer endearing in any way?
But you know Ugly Betty is a remake of a telenovela right? That's the way a lot of novelas are, overly dramatic and goofily funny. I really like the show and it's the only new show I'd recommend to anyone. I love that they feature real novela stars in the skits. It's little details like that that make me want to come back week after week.

The only other new show that I'm watching is Brothers and Sisters with Flockheart and Field. Mostly out of curiosity. I wanted to see what kind of show could lure Sally Field back to television. So far it's okay. IT's something to watch on Sunday night.
I'm definitely hooked on Ugly Betty. Tragic and funny at the same time. I also got sucked into Jericho - the absolute worst new show, but I can't help it. I tried watching Dexter - it's good, but too gory for me late at night. Shit like that tends to rattle around in my brain while I sleep. Not good.
New Shows:
Jericho
Heroes
Doctor Who

And I can't help but watch CSI and CSI:NY, though I've never been able to get into CSI:Miami, or the new BSG... I still can't really figure out why.
Of the new shows: Heroes, Jericho, Ugly Betty, Dexter

Of the returning: Veronica Mars, Lost, NCIS, CSI, CSI: Miami, BSG, Nip/Tuck

As for Grissom & Sidle..."The children must never know." LOL I swear that was the episode that they first got together (off screen, of course).
I'm a Lost fan.
JERICHO. watch it.
oh yeah! I forgot about Jericho. I'm from Kansas originally, how could I forget that one!
I have to second the nod to Dr. Who. Really, really good stuff.

I haven't been able to figure out how I feel about Studio 60. I recognize that its a good show, and I always start out excited to watch it, but I never feel bad about turning it off halfway through. And is it just me, ir is it the -weirdest- follow-up to Heros?
Aside from what you've already said (and I just started watching Battlestar Galactica a few weeks ago - completely caught up and completely hooked now) I'm also liking "Shark". Jimmy Woods is the shit. It's good.

And apparently I'm the last person on the goddamn planet to figure out what leech-boy's power was. I thought I was really onto something when I just figured it out two days ago. Someone reserve my seat on the short bus.
I watched the Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far catchup special so I could jump in at the beginning of this season and not be completely lost. So far, I'm enjoying it -- coincidentally enough, the catchup special also played on the plane on my way back from New York last night.

Also very much a fan of Jericho and Studio 60. Love Aqua Teen Hungerforce and Robot Chicken and happy that new seasons are starting on both.
Sunday's we half heartedly watch the FOX shows. When they aren't b eing preempted by something else. Monday nite's we watch Weeds...tomorrow nite is the finale! I'm totally freakin out! Tuesday is Gilmore Girls - loving that. Wednesday's is Lost. I'm not liking all the gratuitous psychological warfare going on. It better get back to the GOOD Lost soon or I'm gonna GET lost! Thursday's are a long nite. My Name is Earl, Smallville, AND ER, and since we Daily watch General Hospital and The Daily Show, it's crazy. Friday's we watch Dr Who - which I'm dearly loving. Every episode just gets better ane better. This week is a 2 part er. Rose, The Dr, Mickey, parallel Ricky and Parallel Rose's Dad are surrounded by Cyber Men and about to be deleted. I'm freakin out! I say Ricky/Mickey's dead by the end of the 2nd part. Saturday's weve got nothing. it's kinda nice grin
