OK, so I really like this show. I like Betty, even though she's a bit of a dork. I like Daniel, even though he's a bit of a prick. I like Willamena. I like her assistant. I like the bitchy tart receptionist who's in love with Daniel. I like the older sister (who always seems to have her cleavage "on display"). I like the dad and the nephew. I even like Santos, the "low-life" father of the nephew. Basically, I like every character, flaws and all, except for...

Man, seriously, what a piece of shit dead weight. Let's see... how did we meet him? Oh yeah, he was Betty's boyfriend, but he dumped her to get some ass from the neighbor down the street. And then, three days later, he came crawling back to her (after the piece of ass dumped him - she was just using him for his discount on electronics). Not a good start. But has he done anything for her since? Well, besides sabotaging her career at every turn at the expense of their "relationship," no. Seriously, I hope that in the next episode, Betty grows at least a bit of a spine, and bitchslaps Walter. Man, I hate that character.
OK, I know it's just a TV show, but haven't we all had that friend who refuses to dump their dead weight, dragging everybody down boyfriend/girlfriend? You want so bad to shake your friend and go "What the fuck? Dump him/her already!" but at the same time, you don't want to get in the middle of it. At least with Ugly Betty, I don't have to worry about that dilemma. I just yell at the TV, and I feel better.
Oh, and by the way... Salma Hayek. Rawr.
