What? A group called the
Suicide Girls has been targeted by the FBI. Who are they? They sound like they'd be bombers, right? Wrong. Way wrong.
Most people who use the internets have at least heard of the Suicide Girls... they're basically a bunch of goth/edgy girls who put up "artistic pictures" (both nude and non-nude). They've been around for a long time. And now they've been asked by the FBI to
remove bondage photos from their pay site.
Their pay site.
So, let's get this straight. Consenting adults posing for bondage photos, all perfectly legal, yet the FBI asks them to take it down. These aren't pictures that just anyone can Google... these are pictures that members have to pay to see. Again, these are
legal pictures.
It's all part of the anti-obscenity initiative, or as
Mac likes to call it, the
War!On!Porn!. That's right. The govt. is now going after pornographers.
And yanno what? I'm not talking about child pornography. Or beastiality. I'm talking about
legal adult porn. I'm talking about porn made with
consenting adults.
His own prosecutors have warned Acosta (interim U.S. Attorney) that prioritizing adult porn would reduce resources for prosecuting other crimes, including porn involving children. According to high-level sources who did not want to be identified, Acosta has assigned prosecutors porn cases over their objections.
Acosta, who told the Daily Business Review last month that prosecuting obscenity was a priority for Gonzales (Attorney General), did not return calls for comment. [full story]
That's right. Not only is the FBI being paid to surf porn, they're seeking to take away your
legal adult pornography.
"I guess this means we've won the war on terror," said one exasperated FBI agent, speaking on the condition of anonymity because poking fun at headquarters is not regarded as career-enhancing. "We must not need any more resources for espionage." [full story]
I wonder what perfectly legal thing will be taken away from us next?
Next entry: trapped in new orleans
Previous entry: it's been seven years already?
that is completely wack. straight up.

Just think, pretty soon you are going to have porn cartels and people smuggling in porn from Columbia and Thailand.

When porn is criminalized, only criminals will have porn.

you know, they did this in the 20's. around the same time they were trying to make prohibition work, they were trying to do 'obscenity' prohibition. there were raids where written obscenity and picture obscenity was seized and 'destroyed'. shopkeepers who sold the stuff were put out of business. and you know what? THERE WAS STILL PORN/EROTICA/OBSCENITY. and there always will be. just like prohibition didn't work, this didn't work either. i wish fucktards would LEARN from history. people want their booze and their porn and when you take it away, they're just going to make it themselves. i fucking hate this government. this is not a priority. people aren't dying because of some bondage pics. fuckers.

What about homemade porn? *cough* not talking about MY homemade porn, but like Paris Hilton and Pam & Tommy's?
Maybe that's the next thing they'll make illegal. Husbands and wives, or partners across the country will have their houses raided because they're filming their own sexual escapades.
Crazy shit, I say.

I read this, thought about commenting, but couldn't think of any way to respond, left, came back, read it again, and now I feel like I've got to say something. Unfortunately, all I can come up with is..Huh? I mean, seriously. What? Do the pictures tell Osama where to hide so that we can't find him? No? Then why? I can't form rational thoughts anymore. But that's ok, because apparently our government is showing me I'm not alone.

I read about this on a news site. The really funny thing is that the site is a pay-for site. You have to pay to view the "offensive" images. So if the FBI was there, our tax dollars are "hard" at work!

Didn't the Meese Commission unsuccessfully try the same argument way the fuck back in 1986? Land of the Free my ass.
Now, I'm off to take some nude, bondage self portraits in storm drains. Because I live in Canada, where we take freedom seriously.

Aren't there bigger things too worry about? Say for instance the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden? It's nobodies business if I watch porn in the privacy of my own home and this whole campaign floors me. What will they take away next??

wtf. so dumb. there are bigger things to worry about in this world than who the hell is watching porn. 2008 cannot come soon enough. This country needs to be turned on its ass. Whatever happened to the Voltaire and Locke ideals that our country was founded upon?

So what ?
It's a good thing they investigate Suicide Girls !
Did you read the contract the models have to sign ? It's the most ridiculous attempt at taking away basic human righhts.
Lol ! You can't sue Suicide Girls in case of death or injury ? What are they planning to do next year ? Snuff movies ?
Cannot sue Suicide Girls for mental dammage ?
Damn, if I wanted to start a sex slavery company, I think that's one of the clauses I would have.
Fact is the guy running suicide girls seemed to be rather dangerous and abusive (yeah, it's a guy running it, not a bunch of girls unlike what the pub says)
Why would a company put so manyy clauses to stop their employees from suing them if they didn't intend to use them ?
Fortunately in most states of the us this contract is deemed illegal (at least those clauses are void, worst case)
i got no pity for Suicide Girls
