Note: it's only seven songs long because... well, I hate doing cardio. 30 minutes at a time is about the most I can do.
- Galvanize vs. Eye of the Tiger, mashed by DJ Prince. OK, it's not truly a soundtrack song, but it's got one mixed in, so... close enough for me.
- Fight to Survive, by Stan Bush. Otherwise known as "the Kumite song" from that Jean-Claude Van Damme classic, Bloodsport. Hey, I'll admit it... I actually like this movie. Plus, it's connected to two of my favorite movies - it also stars Donald Gibb, who played Ogre in Revenge of the Nerds, and Yeung Sze, who played Bolo in Enter the Dragon.
- Techno Syndrome, by the Immortals. The Immortals being, basically the same people who brought you Praga Khan and the Lords of Acid. You know, it wouldn't be a half bad song if that dude wasn't constantly naming off all the Mortal Kombat characters. And, is it just me, or should they have ended the song with a "Finish Him!"?
- Juke Joint Jezebel, by KMFDM. OK, so this is the vocal version, whereas the MK soundtrack version was just instrumental. You don't care, do you?
- Control, by Traci Lords. Again, this is the vocal version, and the MK soundtrack used just an instrumental version. I wouldn't want you guys to have to miss out on the incomparable Ms. Lords' singing talent.
- One Vision, by Queen. Because cheesy songs don't just apply to ground fighting. But what's the deal with the fried chicken?
- Danger Zone, by Kenny Loggins. Hey, it was either this or "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling."
- You're the Best, written by Bill Conti, performed by Joe Esposito. Mom always said close strong, and you just can't close any stronger than with this old Karate Kid standby. You're all right, LaRusso. You're all right.
Happy Friday!
