Survey time…

OK. Paper cuts. What's the worst place (on the body) to get one? What's the worst place you've had one?

Me?

Worst place so far... on the inside of my right index finger, first joint up, opposite the knuckle. You know, right at that place where bending constantly occurs, just to make sure that it takes an extra long time to heal. And yes, I'm right handed.

And paper cuts are the worst! I would rather get a huge chunk of skin gouged out by a butcher knife.

I have to agree with Jen on this one. A paper cut on the tongue from licking an envelope is just deadly.

Worst - right index finger pad. It just didn't matter what I did, I would reopen the wound every few minutes.

Most recent - knuckle on right index. That one was almost as bad.

Oh yea, the web of the hand and the tongue are both pretty bad. The worst "paper" cuts I had though were when I cut myself on cardboard or when I sliced my finger open on the edge of a plastic-laminated 3-ring binder for school.

Ow. :(

I can't imagine a worse location than on the sack. It's flexible skin, always in motion, under you when you sit, and... for crying out loud... the most pain sensitive part of the male anatomy.

Ahh! Just thinking about getting papercuts gives me the heebie-jeebies. Yeah, I think that worst for me are on knuckles. You constantly use your fingers making them almost impossible to heal.

As for the licking an envelope, i always lick upwards a few times instead of across. Yeah a few extra licks, but it saves you from an injured tongue.

I have had one on my tongue and in between my index and middle finger - but the WORST was when I go one from a cardboard box - man was that deep!

Across the top of my finger, just below my cuticle. It was not fun.

I work with a lot of files and we use metal prong fasteners (like these) to hold the pages of the files together. I know it's not technically a "paper cut" but, DAMN, that shit hurts when you slice yourself with one of those bastards!

the web between my pinky and ring finger. i know it's not as constantly used as some of the other places people have said, but it's pretty well-used, and what makes it worst is the not remembering you have it.

paper cuts under the nail are really painful too. it sucks b/c you can't always clean it out, so sometimes it festers.

on jackass (or some similar show), they once had an episode where they gave themselves crazy papercuts. one guy gave himself a sack cut there. insane.

wow - glad to see that the tongue is a common place cause I thought I was weird for wanting to write it.

Other than that, I got one under my fingernail - ouch - that was the worst one EVER! I was prying a cardstock-thick "warning" ticket off my car window. (I was parked in a corporate lot with time limits if you weren't an employee.) I grabbed it lightly, but it turned out it was stuck with gooey glue onto the window, so I got a paper cut that BLED, it was that deep.

Damn those assholes!

Cardboard cuts are WAY worse than your average papercut, especially when the cardboard is fresh. Some people don't believe you can be cut by cardboard, but the day you do... you will scream bloody hell.

Oh, and the worst papercut I've ever had was due to licking an envelope, except I didn't cut my tongue, I cut the corner of my lip (right where the top and bottom meet.) Worse than trying to eat with a new oral piercing. And it hurts to laugh, smile, scream, drink hot liquids... pretty much everything.
