So, my car was broken into last night.
Usually, I take all the important stuff out before parking on the street. But no, yesterday, I thought "Oh, who'll steal my iPod? It's all old and fucked up, barely holds a charge... it's just not worth it." I was wrong. Some motherfucker crackhead (or whoever) sometime last night broke my passenger window, reached in and grabbed my almost useless iPod and nothing else. (well, except for my iPod charger and phone charger. and, of course, my phone is dead right now) Let me remind everyone... this iPod is old, and it barely lasts an hour, fully charged. Motherfucker who stole it probably wouldn't even get $5 for it. Yet, now I have to pay for a broken window and a new iPod. Nevermind all the music that was on there that I can't get back. My audio rip of Hurrah Torpedo's cover of "Total Eclipse of the Heart." My rip of Survivor's "Glen! Glen! Glen!" commercial. My hard to find mp3 of Bob and Doug McKenzie's "Take Off." My Katamari soundtrack.
Those fuckers.
And it's not like this ain't a nice neighborhood. Actually, this is a pretty damned rich neighborhood. Just on the other side of this building, some dude parks his Ferrari
and his Lambourghini outside, on the street. There's Porches and Mercedes all up and down around here. If there's a place where you can leave your iPod visible in your car, then it'd be here. But, it's not here. So, what does that say? Never leave your iPod visible in your car. Because all it takes is one fucked up meth head looking for something to sell for his next score. And even if you don't have much in your car, you'll still have to pay to get that fucker repaired.
Oh yeah, and great ol' Bank of America. Well, I had deposited a check with them on Saturday, and I called today to see if they could release the hold on it. You know, so I could pay for my car repairs. Of course not. Bank of America will never release held checks, no matter what. At least, not for me. (notice I didn't say that they
couldn't, I just said that they
wouldn't). So, after years and years of utterly shitty service... I mean, we're talking an
unbounded amount of shittiness... I'm dropping BofA. Hey, if they'll never go out of their way help me, then why should I stay with them? Their customer service is horrible, the reps don't even listen to you when you're on the phone - they figure they know what you're going to say, and they interrupt you when you're trying to explain the situation. I'm sorry, but in this day and age, with the technology that's available, I don't see what's so goddamned hard about one major bank checking on the availability of funds from a check drawn from another major bank. I'm sorry, but it can't be that hard. Fuck Bank of America. Bank of America sucks.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go clean some glass.

Damn, it's been a rough week for passenger windows! We had our van broken into on Saturday night, lost the video iPod (which wasn't even visible) and a few other things including my prescription sunglasses. I hope the crackhead fucker tries wearing them and gets a massive headache! My pic:

Of course the cost of repairing the window and replacing the items falls just under the amount of our insurance deductables so we're stuck eating the costs. Why the hell do I send those guys so much money every year!?!?!? Insurance is a scam.

Oh! And I have "Take Off" if you can't find another copy... email me.

Yuck. I'm sorry. And you're right--BofA sucks. Like a Dyson.
I did see that "Take Off" is available on Rhapsody though.

I may have "Glen! Glen! Glen!" if ya want it. I probably have it because you put it here once....I believe. Giving back, that's what it's all about.
I hate big banks. That's why I'm a local bank girl. Sure it sucks when I travel, but I get awesome customer service. And no held checks bullshit either. I have no idea what the hell that's all about...
My word is justice. Cute...

I have the entire Bob & Doug CD, if you need it (of course I do, I'm Canadian).
My car got broken into a couple years ago-- crackhead stole my schoolbag full of spelling tests.
It totally sucks.

Fuck those fuckers! I can't believe they broke into your car just to steal your old ipod. Some people.
I'm surprised you have so many problems with BofA. I've been using them for a few years and never had any of those issues. Then again, I'm on the opposite coast so maybe things are run by a different division over here?

That SUCKS.
See, you're missing the point of living in a not-so-nice neighborhood - those jackasses realize that no one around here has shit worth stealing, so what's the point of breaking into someone's seven-year-old Focus for a few quarters? So instead, they go over to your neighborhood.

Yeah, I don't have that cheque-holding thing with my bank. Maybe Canadian banks are different in that regard? Still, if they don't help you out when you need it, especially if you've been a good customer for years, fuck them.
Also, how about caning for the crack head who stole your iPod? (Now I'm on a caning kick here...)

Damn, that sucks ass, it really does. In the long run it will kick ass to have the better ipod that holds more of a charge and isn't as heavy and all that, but losing the music bites. A lot of my songs are so old and they are only on my ipod but there are programs (like Copypod) that you can use that allow you to backup your songs from your iPod. Not that this helps now, but for future.
And I hope the window won't wind up costing you a ton. :(

Ugh! That is one of the worst feelings in the world--seeing the busted glass of your window.
I had a glass company actually extend me credit when my wallet was stolen out of my car over a holiday weekend--almost made up for the jerk breaking the window.
Sorry for the suckage.

I hate BofA if for no other reason than the fact that they won't stop calling me looking for my ex and we've been divorced almost 9 years.
But that does totally suck. And now you will always have the feeling that you will need to remove EVERYTHING from the car when you park it anywhere. And you'll always wonder if your shit will still be there, undamaged when you get back to it.

I feel you. The boyfriend gave me a check the other day. I deposited with my credit union. They held it for NINE DAYS because it was out of state. WTF? It's Washington Mutual. Sure, his checks say California, but this is a well established, nationwide bank. Not only that, but the money came out of HIS account in four days. And my credit union still held onto it until the ninth day.
Sorry about car/iPod.

Such a bummer about your car. And I know I am forever defending BofA but I'm gonna warn you - grass may not be greener on the other side. When you open a new account somewhere else, they have the right to hold your checks even longer because you are a new customer. A point to ponder.

So sucks, Mikey.
I hate BofA, too.
If you need a bank recommendation, I can tell you all about the pros and cons of different banks.
Just drop me a line, there are two non-traditional banks I highly recommend.

As a person who has had a car stolen and another car broken into AND as a Bank of America customer, I understand what you're going through completely.
I ended up a Bank of America customer by default when they bought out the bank I was with. I'm definitely looking for a convenient alternative.
Total losses: 1 car, several lenses for a Canon SLR camera, and hours of my life on the phone with BofA, which I believe actually stands for Bullshit of America.

aww, mikey, i'm so sorry!
it's the week to dump BofA, though - i opened an new account at a different bank this week, because i too am sick of BofA putting holds on shit, and charging me exorbitant fees when something bounces
because of the held funds.
and you're right - with all of this technology, you'd think one bank could immediately transfer funds to another bank. hell, it'd be easier to take said check to bank it's drawn from, cash it, then go to my bank and deposit the cash, than wait for them to get their heads out of their asses and release the funds.
bastards.

I have "Glen! Glen! Glen!" because I got it from you. Would you like to have it back?
I wish I could make it better. Fucking bastards. Well, okay, that feels a little better. Just keep saying that a lot. It's cathartic.

Dude. Pretty lame...
The real tragedy in this is not the missing iPod, nor the broken window...
THE KATAMARI SOUNDTRACK IS GONE!!!
I haven't been able to find that anywhere at a reasonable price.
