Just a few quick thoughts...
- The San Francisco 49ers played the New Orleans Saints yesterday. Honestly, I'm surprised that there wasn't more hype about this game - it featured Bush vs. Gore. Sure, it was Reggie Bush and Frank Gore, but still, you know how sportswriters love to play up that kinda stuff. Especially in an election year, even though it was only mid-term elections.
Quick side note: if Reggie Bush would have been drafted #1 instead of #2, that would have meant that Helix High School in San Diego would have had the #1 pick in the draft two years in a row (last year was QB Alex Smith). Now, I don't even know if there are that many colleges that can say that, but if there are, they ain't many. And this is High School. Man, that had to be one seriously kick ass team. - Oh yeah, and this was funny. It's not often that you're watching an NFL game, and you see someone intercept a pass, only to fumble it back to the offense. It happened twice yesterday, within an hour (two different games). One was in the Cowboys/Giants game, and I forget what game had the other interception. But it was funny.
The worst part? Both, yes, both players fumbled without being hit. Yes, much like Reggie Bush and his92 yard touchdown catch60 yard catch and fumble out of bounds, these guys were just running along, and the ball popped out. There must be ghost tacklers all over the place or something. - How 'bout them Chargers? If LaDainian Tomlinson doesn't win the MVP this year, then they should shoot every MVP voter. Twice. The guy's got over 1,300 yards rushing to go with over 400 yards receiving, with 26 touchdowns (23 rushing, 3 receiving). Keep in mind, there's still four games left. And, have I mentioned that he's got two passing touchdowns? Like I said. MVP.
- How 'bout them Cowboys? I'll be honest - I think Romo is doing great this year, but I'm kinda sick of all the talk about how he's the best thing since sliced bread. And, have you noticed? All the TO tantrums and other distractions stop, and lo and behold, the Cowboys are a playoff team. That's what happens when everybody shuts the fuck up and just plays.
And now, something totally unrelated to football... we (Joelle and I) made it on Cute Overload. We can't take all the credit, though. That puppy (and the dog he's laying on) belong to Heika's parents.
And... that's it.
