More thinking

I should really dedicate a whole category to these kinds of posts... so, the other night, I was thinking of super powers that I'd want to have.

Come on. Like you don't do this, too? You've never been in traffic, and wished that you had the power of telekinesis? You know, so you could move all of that fucking traffic in front of you and make all of the lights green, and you could zoom the fuck home in 5 minutes as opposed to the 45 minutes it usually takes you? You've never done that?

So, I forgot what we were watching, but it was some nature show. And it dawned on me. That's the super power I want - I want to be able to go through life without any animal or creature wanting to hurt or kill me. You know, like Grizzly Adams. Seriously.

Before you totally discount my proposed super power, stay with me, here. Can you imagine being able to just walk up and play with, say, grizzly bears? And not worry about them hurting you? Or, hell, how about being able to go hang out with some lions? I mean, haven't you ever thought "Dude, those things are so cute. I would love to have a pet lion, if it weren't for the fact that it could easily kill me."? I've thought that.

You wouldn't have to worry about mosquito bites. Or bees. Or spiders, snakes. How awesome would that be?

I mean, sure, I guess my super power wouldn't help much in the fight against evil, but... so what? I'd get to play with bears. And lions and tigers, of course.

But. You know what'd really be a cool super power? OK, it's well known that we humans only use like, wha, 10% of our brain? I'd love to be able to use 100% of my brain... that would be a super power! I mean, we don't even know what the brain can do... maybe telekinesis is possible. Maybe telepathy is possible. Maybe I can finally remember where I put my keys without having to look around for 10 minutes every morning. Can you imagine?

You might have the memory/math skills of Rain Man, but you'd still be social. You might have the musical talent of Mozart, but you wouldn't be such a tool. The possibilities are endless.

You know, I could probably spend all day just thinking of cool super powers. It's much more fun than, say, work.
Ya know, that animal one isn't half bad but you should add to it by being able to communicate with all animals as well. Might as well have some conversation while your wrestling bears and what not.

I've always thought that teleportation or speed would be a cool one to have. Of course, any mind powers would be cool as hell as well.
I'd pick teleportation, no question.
A superpowered mind would be an awesome power, but I thought the "people use only 10% of their brains" fact was one of those things that everyone "knows" but there isn't any basis for like "if you make that face it will stick that way" or "pollution is causing global warming". I mean, wouldn't scanning brains tell us what the unused 90% is? I'd love to see where this started, whether it was a doctor/scientist or a supposed psychic trying to explain these supernatural powers. Anyway, that's way off the point, sorry.

So with the animal protection power, can you control them or are you just safe? If you can control them, then it's a great power for fighting evil. Come at somebody with a gun and that's one thing. Have a lion bite off one of their legs and they'll think twice about committing more crimes.

I'd have to go with some sort of super mental power. Telepathy, telekinesis, telephoning, super intelligence, anything like that. Mostly, I think it's because I want to have a superpower I can use without getting off the couch.
I was going to ask the same questions that Murphy and Craig already asked about the animals. That would be an awesome way to fight evil. Even if you couldn't really communicte or control them...if someone is chasing you they'll think twice if they round the corner and you're hanging out with your polar bear friends...

Since I want to travel around the world but I'm a huge wuss when it comes to flying so I have to be drugged AND I'm not made of money the old teleportation power is very, very appealing to me. Just blink my eyes...I'm in London. Blink again...look there I'm in Australia helping the sting rays hide from those dipshits...

I used to think that I'd like to be able to read people's minds...but I honestly don't believe I could handle that. But maybe some sort of mind control. I wouldn't use it for evil. Just use it to make those that annoy me go away. Or make them use their own brains when they come to me with stupid questions. Yeah. I would use the power of my mind to force others to use theirs!
while playing with tigers would be cool, and not having another damn mosquito bite ever would be AWESOME... i'd like to alter the super power a bit so that spiders could never ever touch me, or come within like 50 feet of me. yeah, that's what i want.
