Another question, just because I'm curious...
What's the deepest you've ever searched on Google?
You know... say you're looking up something on Google, you hit search, check a few links on the first page, but didn't really find what you were looking for, so you look on the 2nd page of returned searches. Still nothing, so you look on the 3rd. The 4th. You're getting annoyed, because you think you should have found [whatever] by now. You keep clicking the next page, then the next, and... eventually you find yourself on page 47 of returned searches.
Have you ever gotten that far before giving up?
Honestly, I don't know exactly how far I've gone, but I'm pretty sure I've at least gotten into the 40's. How about you?

I've gotten into the 40s. Notable example is when you're trying to stalk someone with a fairly common name.
Crap, did I just admit that? I am such a google stalker.

If I haven't found it by page 2 or 3, I think of ways to refine/improve my search criteria. Perhaps I'm an impatient Googler.

i don't go past ten, and that's rare. usually if i don't find what i want within the first two 'pages' i try a different search string.

I've gone pretty deep.

Oh some times I go deep Baby, real deep, like in the 80's or deeper. I've been to the end.
Depends on what I have Googled.

I'm impatient like Deltus. I figure if it can't be found by re-wording my search string, then it's not worth finding anyway.
Then again, maybe I'm just really lazy.

There have been times that I get into the 30's - but usually, I will change the way I searched it.

I've been pretty deep-- in the 60s-- especially after seeing a weird search term in my stats that led to my 'blog.
Seriously.

I'm not exactly sure either, but sometimes it's pretty far, at least in the 40s, if I have the time, and the search is something that seems to keep turning up somewhat relevant stuff that far in. That said, I'm always amazed when I check my referer logs and see that someone hit me from page 30 or something on a search and I'm obviously not relevant...I always wonder what kind of people they are and what they are looking for...

today, page 26, stopped at my age, analytics told me someone hit my site off the words 'sweet ass'. I couldn't find it by page 26 and had no desire to see how far someone else had gone to find me...

Really depends if I do it at work or not. If I am there, I have a tendency to go really deep cause what the fuck?
You might find something else interesting.
And everyone wants to know what Elvis was reading when he died.

So related to this curiousity ...and what I am curious about ... those of you that HAVE searched beyond 2 or 3 pages, which seems to be my limit too, do you ever find what you are looking for on the 40th, 50th, 80th page? Have I missed out on information that I am seeking by not being diligent and patient?

Ooo, good question! I don't know about anybody else, but searching into the 40's and higher "worked" probably less than half the time (worked as in "found what I'm looking for"). Most of the time, though, you'll end up finding either closely related or totally unrelated interesting links. You know, like when you go on IMDB to look up a movie like "Summer School" and then you find out that the Nelson brothers (of Love and Affection fame) are the nephews of Mark Harmon, and that Kelly Harmon (Mark's sister) is the model/spokesperson for Tic Tacs.

I've gone pretty far. I know I've gone to like, page 70-something, but it was in images. By that point it wasn't even remotely close to what I was looking for, but by then, I just couldn't stop looking to see what was on the next page. And I had safe search on.
