Roger Ebert on Sarah Palin: "I want a vice president who is better, wiser, well-traveled, has met world leaders, who three months ago had an opinion on Iraq. Someone who doesn't repeat bald-faced lies about earmarks and the Bridge to Nowhere." [link]
Amen.
While we're talking about wants...
How about, I want an election where the issues are real issues, like the economy, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, women's rights, our crumbling infrastructure, whether or not torture is ethical, domestic spying, etc. Too bad what we have is an election that's all about lipstick on a pig.
I mean, wha, don't you think you can win this election on the issues, without having to resort to distraction tactics? I guess not.
Stay classy, McCain and Palin.
Next entry: "I told congress..."
Previous entry: So what if I'm a dork?
Im confused, who are you supporting?

I absolutely support Obama/Biden. I may not agree with them on every issue, but at least they're willing to talk about them.
All we ever get out of the McCain/Palin camp are either lies (McCain? A maverick? Maybe back in 2000, but after he got his ass kicked by the Repubs in charge, he changed his tune and is now in lockstep with the establishment) or personal attacks on Democrats.
Nevermind the fact that McCain/Palin represents AT BEST more of the same (the last 8 years), and at worst, we'll be even closer to a theocracy, lose our place as one of the world's economic and cultural leaders, pay more for less energy, and work more for less pay.
McCain/Palin: NFW.

Until the public backlash for popularity campaigning is greater than the benefit, politicians will continue to engage in it. Unfortunately, the average person is too stupid to be offended by it.

Were you just listening to my husband and I discuss this whole election??
I have heard that there is a backlash for Obama to push harder to keep the focus where it should be. We'll see what happens.

Can't help but agree that elections have turned into what is being called the "Silly Season" in this country.
I would like to offer a counter point to what Roger Ebert call Repeating Lies in the excerpt here.
I do not know if the author at the link is any more reliable than Ebert or his sources, but I did find this speaking to the issues of Earmarks and the Bridge to Nowhere
