OK, so a few days ago, I was talking about boobs and nipples, and how the country gets all a-twitter at even an obstructed view of a woman's breast. I'll say it again - it's fucking silly. It's a boob, you idiots. I don't understand what the big deal is.

And then there's the hypocracy of... men can walk around topless and show off their nipples, but women can't. Why is that? Because, since men's boobs and nipples aren't "active" (they don't give milk), then they're OK for public viewing? Is that the reason? Because really, that's the only logical explanation I can think of. I've always wanted that explained to me.

But let's go a step further. Yes, the bullshit gets deeper. Remember that guy who got breast implants on a bet? He can't show his nipples, either! Seriously... I remember seeing an interview with him on a talk show, and when he took his shirt off, they blurred out his boobs. Blurred them! And... look at that article... his nipples? They're covered with tape!

Seriously, what the fuck. Wha, because the guy has breasts that look like women's breasts, they must be treated as such (and covered)? I don't understand. Are they making this shit up as they go along?

So, let's get this straight.

Women can't show boobs or nipples at all.

Men can show boobs and nipples, as long as they don't look too much like women's boobs. Natural moobs (man boobs) are OK, though.

Yeah. Makes a lot of sense. But then again, these fundie idiots (the ones who complain about women's bodies, but think that watching killing, torture, and rape on TV is OK) almost never make sense.

Some time last year me and the hubby were flippin' through the channels when we spotted some boobs. Naturally we stopped. But they looked weird. It took us a minute to figure it out. It was a plastic surgery show about implants and the ladies were topless...but their nipples were blurred out. So I learned that female nipples = bad, Jack Black's nipples = good. What?!?!?

admit it, Mikey, what you're really complaining about here is your lack of access to naked female breasts.

Just keep in mind how much more special it is when you DO get to see them.

Exactly! It DOES perplex me that if the man is just fat and has natural "man-boobs" they will be shown sans-blur. But apparently if they are MADE to look that way they aren't ok for public viewing? Is there a point in which natural man-boob will be blurred? Personally I'd rather have that blurred than a natural female one.

And it always IS ridiculous that you can show pretty much all of your breast except for the nipple (unless you're male of course).

Interesting thoughts! Wonder who makes up these rules anyway... and why does everyone follow along with them?

I suppose this is partly my mother's southern heritage coming through in me, but I don't think men should go topless anyway. Well, at least there should be a weight limit on toplessness whether it's male or female.

A few years ago, there was a picture of some body bui8lder's well developed breast....just the breast shot and it did look like a female breast from this closeup.

Folks were asked if it was obscene and the vast majority voted yes.

However, the total picture which showed the same breast that was now obviously attached to a man was ok...

There is a blind priest who was on the movie "obscenity board" for Boston, I think it was. When asked how he could tell a move was obscene when he couldn't see it answered....

I don't have to see the movie to know what is happening is obscene...

Oh, and don't forget, you can whip a tit out to breastfeed a baby with no covering what-so-ever in public if you want and that is A-OKAY. Our society is really fucked up.

OMG! I remember that breast implant guy. I saw him on rikkilake or maury povich years ago. Man he is wierd... he was talking about how he liked the boobs and played with them alot.

The solution is obvious. Women just need to grow hair on them and then it's okay to show them off.
