Mr. Roboto.
Remember that song? Shit, remember that entire album? Kilroy Was Here. Apparently, it was lead singer Dennis De Young's brainchild, and they were gonna make a movie out of it. Yeah, that idea eventually got nixed, because, well... it was extremely lame.
But now? Shit. Someone should make that movie. Seriously. Isn't there a hardcore Styx fan out there with a lot of money?
Hell, if Travolta can make a "Battlefield Earth," then some other motherfucker should make a "Kilroy Was Here." Seriously. How bad could it be? I so totally doubt it could be worse than the forthcoming "Fat Albert." Have you seen the commercials? It's a travesty of freakin' biblical proportions, and it's about to open in theaters.
Anyways. Yeah. I wanna see a damned Mr. Roboto movie now.
Himitsu wo shiri ta.

I so loved Battlefield Earth.

Oh, and by the way? Have you been to any malls within < 2 miles of my home lately?
Hm? Just a random question.

I used to post about fake movies to rec.arts.movies all the time, and Fat Albert was one that I posted about five years ago, and people actually believed that one (in my version, Chris Rock in a fat suit played the title role), and now it's for real. I won't see it, but I might see the Kilroy movie, if it ever gets made.

I would absolutely shell out the nine bucks to see that. I was just crazy in love with that album. I'm sure it would be cheesy as hell, but I wouldn't care. It would be a childhood fantasy made real. Hmm, maybe I liked Mr. Roboto a little too much.

Couldn't really be too much worse than most of the crap masquerading as film out there. I'd watch it.

My very first rock concert? Styx, The Kilroy Was Here tour. hee. It actually started off with a little mini sci-fi movie. He couldn't have his blockbuster, so he made a mini-movie and did a tour.

I saw bits of the tour/play/rock opera but not too much else. I remember seeing a VHS box cover that I thought was the movie but was probably the recording of that concert.
I too loved the album - however I can't remember why. I've loved Styx since their first album but never saw them.

Mikey, you've gotta know someone who knows someone who knows someone. Slap a sticky note on someone.
