So, I was reading some entertainment news the other day, and I stumbled on a story implying that Scarlett Johansson has put on a few pounds. Now, if you know me at all, you'd know that I think the media's infatuation with skinny is totally out of hand, and they judge people entirely too harshly on this manner. Plus, I hapen to think that Scarlett is just absolutely gorgeous. So, of course I clicked over there to see how far she had really "let herself go"...

In the article, an onlooker said "Scarlett has always been shapely but it looks as if she's been beefing up quite a bit." Really? Because, honestly, I can't tell. Ooo, her butt is sticking out a little... isn't that what's supposed to happen? "Plump derrierre" my ass (pardon the pun). I mean, come on, if Scarlett, looking like that, isn't up to "standards," then gawd damn, it's time to re-think the standards.

I mean, really... beefy?

On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of pierced septums, but hey, whatever makes her happy. She's still one of the most gorgeous women on the planet. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go watch "The Island."

So called articles such as this one piss me off. And if I see one more such item about Kate Winslet being fat I'm gonna off somebody. You hear me 'net? OFF!

I posted not too long ago about how afraid I am to have two step daughters. Hubby and I are trying to lose weight, but we are super careful to phrase it as "eating healthy." Just like I do when they want to live on nuggets, fries and icecream. They turn nine this month, and the one who is a bit more curvy than the other has already asked if certain clothes make her "look fat." Makes my head spin I get so mad.

I'm sorry, I was too busy jerking off to that fine picture of the incredibly hot Scarlett Johansson. Could you repeat that?

Um, someone, somewhere is saying something about her looks OTHER than she's one of the hottest women on the planet?!?!?? Huh??? They're either an insanely jealous straight woman, or a completely gay dude. No person who's into chicks AT ALL would have anything negative to say about her looks.

It's just those shorts. I saw a bunch of different angles on another site - the Superficial, I think [you thought right: click] - and it's true; they're probably NOT the most flattering thing she owns. However, she hasn't "beefed up" at all. I hate the media!! I hope she doesn't get annoyed reading stuff like that - she's gorgeous and actually really witty too. Did you see her on SNL? So funny.

I'm with Laura - she's got on my grandmom's shorts, that's all. The only thing unattractive about her is her clothes!

I am in complete agreement. If she is beefy then beefy is pretty damn good looking.

And Kate Winslett. . .I hear ya Itchy.

I think the 24/7 media runs out of things to talk about, so they have to make up things. I'm not a fan of Scarlett, but she sure could use some weight for anchorage in a windstorm.

I don't think the problem is with Scarlett, I think the problem is with her clothes. WTF is she wearing, and could it be any more unflattering?

If that's chunky, bring on the fat girls. Seriously, I've got two hands, and, when it comes to a body like that, they both mean business. If that's beefy, then I'm going to need a double cheeseburger, hold the fries.

And don't get me started on Winslet. There's a whole world of women shaped like her (Rachael Ray, etc.) that are more appreciated than these goddamned magazines let them feel like.

Maine, exactly. I call it the sneeze test. Meaning, if she were to sit on my face and I were to sneeze and she would fly into the wall on the opposite side of the room, she fails the sneeze test. The Olsen twins, individually, would fail the sneeze test (both at the same time is a different story).

But as for Scarlett's clothes: yeah they're unflattering, but when you're as smokin' hot as she is, you can dress like that and get away with it, because fabulousness is only one clothes change away.

She is one of the few healthy looking women in Hollywood. I hope she never changes because our media sucks ass.

you must've missed the other article that made the observation that "scarlett johansson steals from her mother's closet". and i quote: "this is the most horrible 'casual' outfit i have ever seen. it's weird because i have seen this outfit before ... on a 45-year-old housewife!"

i only wish i looked this "terrible" when i left the house!

oh, and from the same blog today: "mandy moore is desperate need of a new stylist, because whoever let her out of the house in that tiny little bikini needs to be taken into a dark ally [sp] for a long and violent beating."

and again i say, i only wish i looked that decent in a bathing suit, period, let alone a bikini!

Well now I'm just pissed off all over again! Mandy Moore needs to cover up in a tankini?!?!?!? Like I didn't feel bad enough going out in a bikini to begin with. I need to stop reading this crap.

I like her. I think she is gorgeous and a great dramatic actor, and I love seeing her on SNL.

If even this deadly sexy woman is clubbed to death by comments like 'she's getting fat', we should just all kill ourselves for lack of hope that is left for us.

Commentsks amazing in a Marilyn Monroe way. Why anyone would think this woman looks ordinary is beyond me.
