- First floor, and you start to fall. Out the bed, clothes, answer the door. On the second I comprehend, positive waves are what I send. Third floor and you start to flow, tell me now where d'ya wanna go.
Stereo MC's - Elevate My Mind - Been running so long, I've nearly lost all track of time. In every direction, I couldn't see the warning signs.
Go-Go's - Head Over Heels - You better watch what you say. You better watch what you do to me. Don't get carried away. Girl, if you can do better than me, go. Yeah, go.
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - You Got Lucky - I remember when you used to be the talk of the town. All you get is lonely.
George Benson - Turn Your Love Around - I miss the people. I miss the fun. You're my apparition. She's my only one.
INXS - I Send a Message - Let us die young, or let us live forever. We don't have the power, but we never say never.
Alphaville - Forever Young - Well you're slim, and you're weak, you got the teeth of the hydra upon you. You're dirty sweet and you're my girl.
Power Station - Get it On (Bang a Gong) [a T-Rex cover] - She's got big thoughts, big dreams, and a big brown Mercedes sedan.
Sheila E - Glamorous Life - Just a little and nothing now it's over, just a little and nothing now it's done. What you said, you're never gonna say again. In your own special way, you tear me down.
Coal Chamber - Sway - Suddenly I'm up on top of the world. It should've been somebody else.
Joey Scarbury - Greatest American Hero (Believe it or Not)
And I can't well post the theme from Greatest American Hero without posting George's answering machine, can I?
Really quick, since we're talking about music... does anyone else out there watch Rockstar: Supernova? Well, we had DVR'd both episodes for the week, and watched them last night. Actually, I kinda liked that, because we didn't have to wait a day to find out the voting results. But anyway, long story short - as far as I'm concerned, there are only three "real" viable lead singers out of that group. Magni, Dilana, and maybe, maybe Lukas. But I've said from the beginning, I think Magni is the guy to beat. He's already polished. He's already rock. He's exactly what you'd expect from a rock lead singer. Dilana? She's great and all, and I think she's got a career ahead of her, but I don't see her fronting this band. That's a woman who should be solo. And Lukas? Good singer, good performer, but all I see when I look at him is the love child of Adam Ant and Billy Idol. A little too much show, and just not enough go.
Long story short, my ass. OK, summing up. Check these out: Magni performing "The Dolphin's Cry," first an acoustic version, and the encore (the next night) was electric. Both sounded like professional, "real" rock. They didn't sound like tryouts. They sounded like concerts.
OK, that's out of the way. Stay tuned for Match Game!
